A case of the "Mondays"

Monday is my Friday, as I have adjusted my schedule to have Tuesdays off with The Dude, so I don't really get "a case of the Mondays," but, boy, am I feeling sluggish today.

Ate all of the junk yesterday (don't ask,) so I'm attempting to make up for it today; two eggs, scrambled and topped with sauteed mushrooms and feta, a few slices of fresh green bell pepper, and an entire grapefruit. Avoiding coffee today. I think I'll hit a chia shot before work though, and drag along an extra bottle of water to work in hopes this lethargy is caused by simple dehydration (or because we stayed up too late and ate far too much sugar. Meh.)

Paving on the highway just around the corner from our house (the most convenient way in and out of our street) is making life interesting. Today they've decided to close one entire southbound lane so they can perform what, to me, appears to be street sweeping. Perhaps they are cutting down the old pavement to prepare for the new. No actual paving has occurred as of yet, though, and it's been groovy for at least a week. Getting The Dude to work today was a chore, but we enjoy our time in the car together, so we made the best of it, as always.

All three dogs ate dry food this afternoon. Goose has eaten canned, wet food for quite some time, but recently showed interest by sneaking bits of kibble from the other pups' bowls, so we gave it a try, and it went without a hitch! He even left a few niblets in his bowl, which Gracie quickly dispatched. The old Gooser is lacking a bit in the dental department, from age and a diet of only soft food, but he did well, albeit slowly. I'm hoping it will stick with him a while and he won't come begging for food so soon after eating.

Today (well, every day, but today I'm feeling it hardcore) I am thankful for The Dude, who, upon waking, looked me in the eye and told me I am "so beautiful." He says this often, and he seems to know just when I need to hear it. I love that man something fierce.

I'm off now to prepare for work, almost hoping it will be a slow night and I can get out a little early and begin my "weekend." May even grab a six pack to enjoy after work! Have a beautiful day!

Peace, y'all!

Carey
